The The United Nations convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (CRPD) it is an international treaty on human rights, adopted by the UN General Assembly the 13 December 2006 and entered into force on May 3, 2008.
The CRPD states that the disability it is not an individual characteristic, but the result of the interaction between the people and the barriers that are present in the society.
What is the purpose of the Convention?
To ensure that people with disabilities can enjoy the full measure of human rights and fundamental freedomsconditions equality, dignity and equal opportunities.
The Convention moves the attention from the limitations of the individual to the responsibility of the company, call to remove barriers to physical, cultural, social and digital.
